Vista Chiropractors :: First Visit

New patient filling out paperwork

Our new patient forms can be downloaded and completed in the convenience of your own home.

On your first visit you will be welcomed by our friendly staff.  You will receive help and instructions on filling out the necessary paperwork. We do treat a good number of medical legal cases; therefore, we like to document the cases properly, so you can have a strong case record. Next, if you have not previously supplied us with insurance information then we will get that from you, and will attempt to verify your coverage. This way we can do our best to let you know before hand what the charges will be for the day.

Consultation & Examination

You will then be shown back to a consultation and examination room where your vitals will be taken, and the doctor will sit down and review your symptoms and concerns with you. If the doctor feels he can help, then he will let you know and start an evaluation of the areas of concern. If needed, x-rays or MRI’s will be ordered.

After the evaluation if Dr. Elliott  feels that you are a good candidate, then he may treat you on your first visit. Many patients experience a good deal of relief after this treatment.

Your Treatment

Next you will be taken back to a treatment room to be treated by the doctor who will usually do some form of muscle work and stretching to further help relax the muscles and allow for a more gentle and thorough adjustment. The doctor will then usually adjust your spine and other non-spinal areas that may need adjusting. The doctor will then give any needed short term recommendations until the next visit.

Finally, you will be taken to the front where you will be scheduled for your next appointment, if necessary, and then you will take care of any charges that may be due. If a referral is needed or an information/medical records request is needed then it will also be taken care of at this time. On average, you can expect to spend about 45 to 60 minutes in the office on your first visit for an uncomplicated case. Times may vary depending on the time of day, and if you have an appointment.
